Pre-diabetes has serious consequences
TYPE 2 DIABETES reversal
Diabetes is a condition that occurs when the body cannot properly use or store glucose, which is a type of sugar. Insulin is a hormone that helps move glucose from the blood into cells. Glucose comes from the food we eat and is also made by the liver. When there is too little insulin or when the body does not use insulin properly (insulin resistance), it can't move glucose out of the blood and into cells. This causes an increase in blood glucose levels. Our program is designed to help you improve your health, and reverse your blood sugar level and diabetes. It's easy, effective and it works!
When is it helpful to enhance your metabolism?
If your blood glucose levels are between 70 and 100 mg/dl (some countries mandate 110), you're in a healthy zone. Normal post-oral blood glucose is under 180 mg/dl two hours after eating, but should be back down to normal within 3 hours. If you have type 2 diabetes, your blood sugar levels can get as high as 1000.
While there are many programs out there promising to help you stop or reverse Type 2 Diabetes, we're the only one that actually focus on raising your metabolic rate. Our program is based on Chinese medicine, which has been widely practiced in China and regions like Japan, Korea, and south east Asia for over 3000 years. Chinese medicine uses natural treatments, such as acupuncture, Moxa (heating therapy), natural herbs and supplements. And in China, many researchers have shown that it helps regulate blood sugar levels, increases insulin sensitivity and improves overall health.
What you need to know about Diabetes and Chinese Medicine?
Diabetes Type 2 (in the ancient recorders, Chinese medicine termed it: Xiao Ke 消渴) is a condition where the body can't process glucose properly. It was most common in adults over age 50, but anyone can develop it at any age. In Chinese medicine, diabetes is named Xiao Ke, which refers to an imbalance between Yin and Yang energy that causes excessive thirst, frequent urination, weight loss (late stage) or weight gain without changes in diet or exercise habits (common in today's lifestyle with Type 2 in its early stage). Over time, it can result in a more serious condition where Yin and Yang are both unbalanced and blood vessels are damaged due to high blood sugar levels for an extended period of time. Eventually, this condition can lead to organ failure if untreated, like heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, amputation, blindness, and so on.
Moxibustion
For over 3,000 years, moxibustion or 'Moxa'—burning an herb on or near the body to stimulate a response in acupuncture points—has been used in China. Moxa applied to the abdomen promotes increased circulation throughout the body, thereby increasing metabolism. Its warmth can also help dispel "coldness" (indicating poor circulation) that has accumulated in your system. The herb used in moxibustion strengthens, energizes and balances the body.
After just a few sessions of moxa treatment (3-5 visits in most cases), your energy level increases, you digest food more efficiently and comfortably than before, produce more body fluids like urine, more bowel movement, or passing gas — all of which points to increased organ function. The swelling and fluid retention decrease, weight is lost, blood sugar levels drop—and you often see improvements in skin tone and complexion.
Navel acupuncture / acupuncture
Acupuncture is the insertion of needles into specific points on the body to release endorphins and regulate the flow of vital energy called QI (pronounced "Chee").
Acupuncture has been practiced in Chinese Medicine for more than 3000 years. The needles used for acupuncture are all single use, disposable needles—the smallest of which are not much thicker than a human hair.
When a needle is inserted into the skin, most people feel only a small pinch or tightness. Once it's through and in place, many patients forget they even have needles—until removal time!
We also use a special acupuncture style that is quite effective for internal health: Navel Acupuncture. The acupuncture points are placed on the outer wall of the navel, based on traditional Chinese philosophy theory I-Ching, which has been applied in Chinese culture for thousands of years.
Some points are related to specific parts of the body, while some target organs and meridians. Others address issues such as sleep or stress or pain. The navel is a good place to begin treatment because it can address many different issues with very few needles and the effects are profound.
Additional acupuncture points may be added to increase the overall outcome of treatment, or address specific additional problems that a patient might have. The points on a meridian are chosen based on their ability to affect the flow of "QI" along that path and restore it, if needed.
